I am your landlord—not by law, but by nature.
You met me the moment you were born, but you never signed a lease.
You walk on me, drink from me, breathe me in, and yet you rarely acknowledge me.
I ask for nothing—no rent, no reward—yet I give you everything.
I am present in every corner of the globe—North, East, South, and West.
My apartments are all around you. You live in them daily. Some are green and full of life, others dry and cracked. Some lie deep beneath the oceans, others sit high in the clouds. And while I ask for no payment, I silently observe how you treat me. And this… is your eviction notice—unless you choose to change.
MY APARTMENTS
I own two types of apartments: Biotic (the living) and Abiotic (the non-living). Both are crucial. Both depend on each other. Both depend on you.
1. Biotic Apartments – The Living World
These apartments are teeming with life. You are part of them. In these dwellings, I house:
- Producers – The plants that give you oxygen and food. Without them, the air would choke you. They use sunlight to create energy, feeding not just you, but every herbivore and carnivore that walks the land.
- Consumers – The animals, birds, fish, and even you, human beings. You rely on others to survive—plants for food, animals for meat, and ecosystems for balance.
- Decomposers – The unseen workers: bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms. They break down dead matter and recycle nutrients back into the soil, maintaining the cycle of life. Without them, Earth would drown in its own waste.
2. Abiotic Apartments – The Non-Living World
These are the bones and breath of the planet—the elements that sustain life but do not live themselves.
- Lithosphere – The rocky crust beneath your feet, holding minerals, mountains, and soil. From it, you build homes, grow food, and dig for treasures.
- Atmosphere – The thin layer of gases that surround Earth. Here, you find oxygen to breathe and carbon dioxide for the plants. It protects you from harmful rays and regulates your weather.
- Hydrosphere – The water in all its forms: oceans, rivers, lakes, glaciers, rain, and groundwater. It’s the essence of life. Every drop you drink, every bath you take, and every tear you cry comes from this system.
- Climate – Not just today’s weather, but the long-term patterns that shape entire ecosystems. It decides where forests grow and where deserts expand. It influences the flight of birds and the migration of fish. And yes, it’s changing—because of you.
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO MY PROPERTY
Though I have never charged you rent, you have paid me back in destruction. You have degraded what was once paradise. How? Let me remind you.
1. Pollution
You have choked my rivers with plastic, poisoned my air with smoke, and buried my soil under toxic waste. Cities overflow with garbage. Oceans are dying with oil spills. Even the clouds carry your dirt.
2. Habitat Destruction
Forests—my oldest apartments—are cut down in minutes. Wetlands are drained. Coral reefs, once bustling cities beneath the sea, are bleaching into silence. You displace the birds, drive away the bees, and leave the soil exposed and empty.
3. Overexploitation
You mine the land without replacing. You hunt animals into extinction. You overfish the seas and overgraze the lands. Resources are not infinite. Yet you act as if they are.
4. Deforestation
You clear forests for farms and furniture, ignoring the oxygen they give. Every tree you cut without planting another is like breaking a window in your own home.
5. Climate Change
You burn fuels that release carbon dioxide. You pump greenhouse gases into the sky. The result? Melting glaciers, rising seas, frequent floods, uncontrollable wildfires, and heat waves that claim lives silently.
6. Invasive Species
You introduce species where they don’t belong, upsetting the balance. Alien plants suffocate native ones. Imported animals devour ecosystems. And you barely notice, until it’s too late.

BUT THERE IS STILL HOPE – RENEW ME
I am not asking for rent, but I am begging for renovation. Restore what you have broken. Heal what you have hurt. Here’s how:
1. Reintroduce Native Species
Bring back the trees, plants, and animals that belong to each ecosystem. They know how to live in harmony. Help them return.
2. Manage Invasive Species
Control or remove those that threaten balance. Respect the native. Study before you introduce. Prevent before you regret.
3. Restore Damaged Land
Replant forests. Reclaim deserts. Build wetlands again. Give nature back its chance to grow.
4. Control Pollution
Ban plastic where possible. Treat waste. Reduce emissions. Recycle. Innovate clean technology. Let factories learn to produce without poison.
5. Fight Soil Erosion
Build terraces. Plant cover crops. Use sustainable farming. Let the land hold its shape and its strength.
6. Educate and Act
Raise awareness. Speak up. Vote for policies that protect the environment. Every small act counts. Every big voice matters.
IF YOU IGNORE ME – THE COST IS DEATH
I am not cruel. I do not take revenge. I simply respond.
If you keep destroying me, I will weep. But my tears come in the form of disasters:
- Hurricanes and floods will wash away homes.
- Droughts will dry your crops and empty your wells.
- Diseases will rise from the waste you leave behind.
- The air will thicken. The seas will boil. The land will crack.
- And slowly, you will suffer the consequence—not because I punished you, but because you punished yourself.

I AM MR. ENVIRONMENT
You may not have known me before, but now you do.
I am not your enemy. I am your landlord.
I do not ask for much—only that you care.
Only that you give back what you take.
Only that you protect what gives you life.
I am the air you breathe, the water you drink, the ground you stand on, and the food you eat.
Please… restore me.
So that we may live in harmony, not just today, but for generations to come.
Thank you.
— Mr. Environment
